Dehydrated raspberries add a tart burst of flavour to granola, oatmeal, and yogurt, can be rehydrated for sauces and desserts, or ground into a powder for smoothies and homemade energy bars.
1. Wash raspberries and allow to dry completely before dehydrating (excess water can weigh down the flesh of the raspberries and screw with the dehydrating process)
2. Arrange on a mesh lined dehydrating tray with enough room for air to circulate between the berries (avoid touching as much as possible)
3. Place in dehydrator and dehydrate at 135°F for about 12-18 hours
Notes
A mesh liner is recommended for raspberries
Dehydrating times may vary (the water content and size of the raspberries, as well as the humidity and altitude of where you live in impact the time)
Pro tip: If your raspberries are very ripe and soft, place them on the tray with the openings facing down. This helps prevent them from collapsing during dehydration, resulting in a better process and final texture.
