Notable Equipment

  • 1 Dehydrator

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar, or preferred sweetener
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • 1. Wash and peel apples. If you're doing rounds, you'll want to core the apples as well. For any other style, you can simply cut around the core.
  • 2. Slice apples into about 1/4″ thick pieces. (Note: You can do slices, rounds, cubes or even shredded)
  • 3. Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and mix well.
  • 4. Put apples in a large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar mixture and toss to coat the apples.
  • 5. Arrange the apples on dehydrating trays with enough room for air to circulate between pieces (avoid over lapping as much as possible)
  • 6. Place in the dehydrator dehydrate at 135℉ for 10-12 hours

Notes

  • A mesh liner is recommended for apples - especially if doing small chunks or shredded (otherwise they may fall through the trays)
  • Dehydrating times may vary (the water content and thickness of the apples, as well as the humidity and altitude of where you live in impact the time)
